Familigia Cibrone

The history of M. Cibrone and Sons Bakery begins with my parents, Michael “Micky” and Della Cibrone. In 1955, they opened a small family-operated business in the North Side doing what they did best, baking. For the next 10 years, their little Italian bakery grew into something much greater than they could have ever imagined and by 1965 their small bakery store outgrew its space. They moved our bakery to Castle Shannon where we still reside and it’s grown into something almost synonymous with the South Hills.

Often you hear people giving directions to places in Castle Shannon, “It’s up from Cibrone’s.”

My wife Irene and I, along with our sons, niece, nephews and many dedicated workers, proudly continue my parent’s tradition by serving the best of the best to our neighbors, friends and businesses. We’ve spent generations serving the finest Italian pastries, cookies, cakes, pies, pizza dough and bread. We are an authentic Italian bakery and grocery store offering a large selection of pastas, sauces, cheeses and imported specialty items.

There is a quote about Italian food, “First we eat, and then we do everything else”. When you come into the bakery, you can ALWAYS find something to eat!
